Argarmeles

The Argarmeles clog team were formed in 1975 and took their name from the Doomsday name for the Sandhills at Ainsdale. The Argarmeles perform traditional dances from Lancashire and Cheshire such as Marston, Banks, Runcorn, Hindley, Abram and Gisburn. Complex dances which were named after the towns or villages from which they originated. The dances involve the use of either sticks, white hankies or decorated garlands. They need a minimum of eight dancers, but the dances can be performed by any multiples of four. |
