The Birthday celebrations kicked off on Friday 28th April at 8:00pm with a ceilidh at St Johns Ambulance Hall, Wright Street. This event was attended by the deputy Mayor who officially launched the weekend of festivities.
The Music for the ceilidh was provided by Mr Blundells Alms. A ceilidh band which was formed by members of the Bothy Folk Club. It therefore seemed appropriate to invite them to play for the club on its 35th Birthday. The caller was Roger Downing who also organises the Bothy ceilidhs.
There were however guest callers during the evening and as well as thanking Roger and the band we would also like to thank Jeff Stoker, Ray Cope, and Gilly Foster.
